#OneDay In London with Virgin Atlantic

When the team at Virgin Atlantic invited me along with Arye Kellman from CliffCentral on a whirlwind trip to London for 24 hours (… & then some), I literally couldn’t say no. I mean who would say no to an itinerary that included going to the Brit Awards?

I arrived at OR Tambo a few hours before my evening flight, checked in, made myself comfortable in the Virgin Atlantic Lounge with some bubbly and waited to board so that the #ONEday in London adventure could begin.

We landed at Heathrow 11 hours later at 6am on Wednesday morning, and opted to take a shower and have a delicious breakfast at The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow, because it was too early for us to check into our hotel. After showering and eating breakfast, we reluctantly left the Clubhouse, hopped on the tube and headed to our hotel, the Grange Wellington Hotel to drop off our bags and start our full on team no sleep day in London.

In trying to figure out the best way we could see as much of London as we wanted to see, we decided to take one of those London Bus Tours, where our first stop was Buckingham Palace, where we stopped for some pictures before getting back on the bus and driving past sites like Big Ben, Hyde Park and London Bridge, where we got off and decided to explore and take a leisurely walk to the London Eye. After enjoying views of London from our private capsule, we walked through Southbank, stopped for a beer at a cafe, got hungry and caught the tube and headed to Soho for a late lunch at Burger & Lobster.

After scoffing down burgers and lobsters, we rushed back to the hotel to check in and get ready for the Brit Awards. We arrived at the O2, took some pictures and made our way to NY-LON for some cocktails before the show. The Brit Awards were incredible. From Adele singing “When we were young” to Rihanna bringing on Drake during her performance of Work, the show was well produced and to experience this as part of an already amazing day in London was unbelievable. Embracing our “team no sleep” energy we ended off our night with drinks at the W hotel in Soho, until the effects of all the activity caught up with us and we decided to get some shut eye.

With a full afternoon in London, we woke up early and headed to breakfast at Bluebird at Covent Garden with Andy Jordan from Made In Chelsea. After a tiny spot of shopping in we headed to Shoreditch, ate some more at Cereal Killer Cafe, took photos against graffitied walls and headed back to the hotel to collect our luggage catch our flight home, but not before some fancy schmancy time in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.
